Gwinnett Medical Center is setting a new standard of excellence in healthcare. Come join our team as an Executive Assistant in Administration. With little or very limited supervision, performs advanced and confidential secretarial and administrative duties requiring broad experience, skill and knowledge of established policies, practices and procedures. Prepares correspondence, memoranda, reports, etc. Composes correspondence and other documents for executives. Screens telephone calls and visitors and resolves routine and some complex inquiries. Schedules and maintains calendar of appointments, meetings, travel itineraries and coordinates related arrangements. May serve as an administrative liaison with others (internally and externally) regarding a variety of administrative issues. Assigned responsibilities require initiative, tact, independent judgement and discretion and organization in solving a variety of problems.
- Completion of high school degree or equivalent supplemented by specialized secretarial and administrative courses.
- Five (5) years increasingly responsible secretarial and clerical experience with at least one (1) year working for a level of management.
- Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic; modern office methods, procedures and equipment and business letter and report writing; fundamental record-keeping principles and procedures; hospital system policies and procedures; receptionist and telephone techniques an filing systems.
- Follows oral and written directions; working effectively with others; learns rapidly, interpreting and applying laws, rules and office policies and procedures; typing accurately at a speed of 60 words per minute; operates modern office equipment including personal computers, word processors and data transmission equipment; demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel software; ability to convey a firm position regarding hospital policies, procedures and practices in a courteous and professional manner; assesses situations requiring intervention or follow-up and problem solves or refers, if necessary, to appropriate supervisor and/or department for resolution; communicates tactfully and effectively in both oral and written form; works independently in the absence of supervision; analyzes situations carefully and adopts effective courses of action; compiles and maintains complex and extensive records and files; prepares reports; composes correspondence independently.
