Summary:
The Manager of Clinical Informatics functions collaboratively as a leader, a clinician, an educator, a consultant and a researcher with the primary responsibility for promoting quality care for patients while working to improve the workflow and processes of the clinical environment.

Provides clinical leadership and expertise related to advanced technology for Nursing / Clinical Services including assessment and evaluation, and education related to the implementation of new technology and procedures. Coordinates clinical support for new services, nurse training, and coordination of courses and seminars. Coordinates administrative support and provide leadership for effective and efficient operation of the technology services to include evaluation, education, and efficiency of procedures and technology. Responsible for planning, development, and implementation of information technology for Nursing/Clinical Services. Plans, develops and implements staff development functions to promote quality nursing care and effect optimal patient outcomes. Develops and coordinates a team of nursing super-users.

Responsibilities:
Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, Nursing or other Clinical Degree, Clinical licensure with twelve years' experience in healthcare information systems or informatics may be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of five years clinical experience as a licensed clinical professional clinical experience as a licensed clinical professional in an acute care or critical care setting with clinician role, management or charge experience required.
Master's degree preferred in a related field, ie. MSN, MHA or MBA.
Minimum of seven years' experience in clinical informatics
Working knowledge of clinical, Business/financial and/or other computer applications required.
Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing to a diverse range of audiences and settings.
Prior participation and active involvement in a project management/leadership role with a clinical application system project implementation required
Certification in Informatics, PMP, related field or vendor-specific applications preferred.
