As an integral member of the Commercial Operations Department, the NUTRITION FOOD SERVICES Technician works as part of a team with other staff, supervisors and managers to ensure optimal customer service is provided. The principal responsibilities of the technician include: greeting/serving customers in a friendly manner; processing cash, credit card and debit purchases; preparing food items offered on the menu; retrieving, stocking and setting up food items; cleaning/maintaining the food preparation area and condiment/utensil stand; assisting colleagues with food preparation and transportation; performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required; performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required. Under general supervision, prepares and/or delivers general and special diet meals for patients, associates, and visitors of Gwinnett Hospital System, following prescribed policies and procedures. May be assigned to cafeteria, patient services, food production, storeroom or sanitation activities.
Six months experience in one or more of the following areas: retail food service including the use of a cash register, fine dining or banquets, service of food to patients & working with special diets preferred. Previous experience preparing meals for large groups preferred. Must have good eye - hand coordination skills. Must have ability to utilize new skills relating to Nutrition Services. Hospital food service experience desirable. Must be able to read and speak English. Must have legible handwriting.
